Lockheed nabs $233M for work on Mk 41 launching system

Lockheed Martin has received a $233 million contract for work on the Mk 41 vertical launching system, according to the Department of Defense. The contract, which funds procurement of vertical launcher module assemblies, modernization kits and spare components for the launching system, a modular missile launch system capable of launching multiple standard missile variants. The contract combines purchases for the U.S. Navy and three other governments through the foreign military sales program. Number of US troops wounded in Iran attack now at 110: Pentagon

The number of US troops who sustained traumatic brain injury when Iran launched missiles at their base in Iraq last month has risen to 110, the Pentagon said Friday. The figure is one higher than the last toll, which was announced on February 10. All of the wounded were diagnosed with mild traumatic brain injury, the Pentagon said in a statement, adding that 77 had already returned to duty. Fort Gordon Soldier Charged with Murder of Girlfriend

A soldier stationed at Fort Gordon has been charged with the murder of his girlfriend, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced Friday. DeMarcus Little, 22, was originally arrested by the Peach County Sheriff’s Office and charged with criminal damage to property on Feb. 18. Raytheon awarded $17 million for dual band radar spares for USS Ford

The Navy has awarded Raytheon with a $17 million fixed-price price order for dual band radar spares for the USS Gerald Ford. The deal modifies an ordering agreement awarded in March 2019. According to Raytheon, the dual band radar is the first radar system in the U.S. Navy fleet capable of operating on the S-band and X-band frequency at the same time.
