Wisconsin’s Department of Health Services reported 585 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Wisconsin, Wednesday. The 128 case jump, since Tuesday’s report, is the biggest since the cases were confirmed in the state. The announcement also comes after two straight days of small jumps, with less than 50 new cases reported each day.

The hardest hit area is Milwaukee, with 290 confirmed cases and three deaths in the county.










WISCONSIN – Local volunteers are donating their time to sew protective gear for medical providers on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic.

“We were able to do a really big push for adoptions and almost every dog we had was adopted within a week,” said Lincoln County Humane Society manager Liz Friedenfels.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The White House and Senate leaders of both parties announced agreement early Wednesday on an unprecedented $2 trillion emergency bill to rush sweeping aid to businesses, workers and a health care system slammed by the coronavirus pandemic.

The urgently needed measure is the largest economic rescue bill in history. It is intended as a weekslong or monthslong patch for an economy spiraling into recession – or worse – and a nation facing a potentially ghastly toll.

“To the American people, we say, big help, quick help is on the way,” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said Wednesday morning on CNN.










PORTAGE COUNTY – One person in Portage County has tested positive for COVID-19 per a media release. 

According to Portage County Public Health, the individuals is currently in isolation and receiving medical care.

County health officials are working to determine how the person may have become infected and is contacting individuals with whom the patient had close contact with.

Portage County Public Health encourages community members to follow Governor Evers’ Safer At Home order and practice proper hygiene to avoid getting sick.










MADISON – The Democratic Party of Wisconsin announced a voter assistance hotline to field questions from voters of either party on how to vote by absentee ballot ahead of the April 7th elections.

Party Chair Ben Wikler said making sure that no one would “risk their health and wellbeing to make their voice count” is the hotline’s purpose.
