Military Day At Seahawks 2019 Training Camp
In addition to the meet-and-greet, WWII Mule and Harley artifacts were on display in the plaza and patio, all of which were hosted by the Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum. Before practice, you may have caught Blue Thunder and Seahawks Dancers perform, plus an on-field contest with two Coast Guard members.
Even if you weren’t present at practice, you may have heard the helicopter fly overhead, as the Coast Guard search and rescue team performed a demonstration right off the shores of the practice facility. USAA also hosted their ‘Salute to Service NFL Boot Camp’ after practice, which featured 50 Coast Guard members participating in football drills similar to those used by NFL coaches to evaluate talent. “The boot camp is one of several military appreciation events that USAA and the Seahawks have created to foster an understanding and appreciation for the local military community.”
All in all, 2019 Military Day at training camp was a success, marking year eight of the team’s tradition. In the past, we’ve also hosted the Army, the Air Force, the Navy, and the Marines. Thank you to all of the brave men and women who sacrifice their lives to protect our nation and serve our country.
Social Post Of The Day
Today’s ‘Social Post of the Day’ comes from 710 ESPN Seattle radio host Mike Salk, as he posts a photo hugging guard D.J. Fluker (likely after a radio interview).
