Global Warming Activists Are Just Like D-Day Soldiers

0 11

After Robert Francis O’Rourke announced he was running for president, he wasted no time getting on the stump in Iowa diners and coffee shops. On Thursday, the former congressman who lost to Ted Cruz in the Texas Senate race compared the fight against climate change to World War II’s D-Day, one of the largest military invasions in history.

“The current president says he doesn’t believe in climate change…how could we, who used to be the indispensable nation, be the only country that has removed itself from any obligation to work with anyone on perhaps the most pressing problem?” O’Rourke asked. “If you think about our leadership, those who proceeded us, right. Those who were on the beaches in Normandy, those who faced an existential threat to Western democracy and our way of life, they showed us the way.”

O’Rourke, who has no military experience, was attempting to criticize President Trump’s withdrawal from Paris climate agreement by invoking the Greatest Generation’s fight against Nazi Germany. So far, O’Rourke has not presented any of his own climate change or energy policy proposals. In fact, there are no policy proposals for any issue posted on his campaign website.
