Washington Monthly | A Powerful Message From Down Under
I had never heard of Waleed Aly before today. But I have a feeling (perhaps hope) that he is in the midst of being catapulted onto the world stage. Aly’s Wikipedia page tells us that he is an “Australian writer, academic, lawyer, media presenter and musician.”
The reason I thought you might be interested in that little bit of an introduction is that Waheed Aly went on Australian television today to talk about his reaction to the shooting in Christchurch, New Zealand. It would be my hope that everyone around the globe would take a few minutes to hear what he had to say.
“You’ll have to forgive me, these won’t be my best words…”

I don’t want to diminish the power of Waleed’s words by adding my own mediocre commentary. So I’ll keep this short and simply say that this is the kind of conversation we need to have. Thank you Waleed Aly!
