Arrest made after victim shot in Mattapan suffers life-threatening injuries





A suspect has been arrested after a person was shot in Mattapan on Sunday morning, police said.

The shooting happened about 10 a.m. near 60 Goodale Road, police said.

The victim of the shooting was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The suspect was taken into custody and a gun was recovered, according to police spokesman James Moccia.

More than five Boston police cars blocked off both ends of Goodale Road Sunday morning as investigators walked in and out of the light green multi-family home.

Neighbors stood on their porches as police conducted their investigation.

Three women walking away from the house with a fourth woman who was loudly crying.

Gilbert Skernitt, 53, who lives down the road from the house, said he heard a girl “just scream out” a few minutes before 10 a.m.

Skernitt said parties are often held at 60 Goodale Road.

“There are always parties over there,” he said.
