Woman Sexually Assaulted, Robbed On 4 Train: Gothamist

(NYPD)

A woman was sexually assaulted and robbed on a 4 train in Brooklyn early Thursday morning—then she chased after her attacker as he fled the train. The man allegedly disappeared onto the trackbed, but now the NYPD has released video of the suspect emerging from the subway tunnel.

The incident took place at around 1:15 a.m. on January 17th. According to the NYPD, a 27-year-old woman, who had just boarded a northbound 4 train at Franklin Avenue, was immediately confronted by a man who tried to kiss her.

She pushed him away, but then he allegedly grabbed her, causing her to fall down to the train floor during the ensuing struggle. As she got up, police say the man “pulled her pants and underwear down and sexually assaulted her with his fingers.”

Police say the man held down her arms and took $47 in cash from her cell phone wallet case and a pair of headphones.

The assailant fled when the train arrived at the Atlantic Avenue/Barclays Center stop—with the victim following him—but then jumped into the trackbed. The victim was treated for minor injuries at a hospital.

Video released by the NYPD shows a man, described as being 35 to 45 years old, 5’7″, and 150 pounds and wearing a yellow vest, a gray hooded sweater, a black coat, an orange sweater, black pants and black shoes, walking from the tunnel and sitting down on the platform.
