Students at East Bridgewater Jr./Sr. High School briefly sheltered in place Thursday morning while authorities investigated “any potential threat” at the facility, officials said.
The East Bridgewater Public Schools confirmed the action in a statement posted to its official Facebook page around 9:30 a.m.
“At this time the EBJSHS is in shelter in place as we take precautionary measures to secure and continue monitoring any potential threat to students, faculty and staff,” the posting said. “The EB Police are on site and helping with the current situation. The Superintendent of Schools will release a statement shortly.”
Then around 10:20 a.m., school officials gave the all-clear.
“The East Bridgewater Police Department and Superintendent have lifted the shelter in place,” said a follow-up message on the EBPS Facebook page. “All student, staff and personnel are safe. The day will resume as scheduled. The Superintendent and Chief Allen will be issuing a statement later this morning.”
