Cathy McMorris Rodgers & Paul Ryan Defend Trump’s Puerto Rico Rant
With a straight face, Cathy McMorris Rodgers stood side-by-side with Republican leaders, including GOP House Speaker Paul Ryan, to help defend Trump’s latest lie: the explosive claim that 3,000 Americans who lost their lives in Puerto Rico during Hurricane Maria are just a made up conspiracy theory.
“This was a devastating storm that hit an isolated island, and that’s really no one’s fault. That is just what happened,” Speaker Ryan said.

Latest from Carolyn Long’s Race to Flip Washington’s 3rd Congressional District — *NEW AD*
⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️
In a new video from Carolyn Long’s campaign, Carolyn explains how she grew up working at her father’s produce stand in rural Southwestern Washington, and how she later worked at Safeway and relied on financial aid to pay her way through college. Carolyn also discusses her record — which includes more than 20 years teaching at WSU Vancouver and holding 34 town halls to listen to Southwest Washingtonians.
FROM THE VIDEO — “We’ve held 34 town hall meetings. People really feel that Southwest Washington has been ignored for the last eight years. They are concerned that they don’t have access to affordable health care. About the rising cost of prescription drugs. And they are very concerned that Congress is going to cut Social Security and Medicare. That’s why I am running — I want to fight for you every single day.”
34 town halls — that’s impressive. And since the ad was made, she’s added two more for 36 total town halls! Compare that to Carolyn’s opponent, Republican Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler, who hasn’t held an in-person town hall since January 2017.
With less than 60 days left before Election Day, this week from Seattle to Spokane thousands of volunteers knocked doors, phone banked, and put in the work to grow the Blue Wave into a reality.
