These Trump supporting women have brainwashed their children with hate
“No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.”
So goes one of many famous quotes from former South African President Nelson Mandela’s autobiography “Long Walk to freedom.” It’s a sentiment that everyone knows, yet the world struggles to accept even as society progresses deeper into the 21st century.
Every day that goes by produces more distasteful examples of this, including when two mothers took their three children to vandalize an Islamic Community Center in Tempe, Arizona. The women had the gall to record three separate videos of them preaching disturbing rhetoric to their kids and having them commit criminal acts.
The two, identified as Tahnee Gonzales and Elizabeth Dauenhauer, belong to a reactionary right-wing group called “Patriot Movement AZ,” which hosted a rally for Donald Trump and Joe Arpaio in early March 2018.
It is easy to blame Trump for bringing out that anger, especially when statistical evidence shows hate crimes increased following his election. However, this disgusting bigotry existed beforehand thanks to racist attitudes in red states and districts across the country.
These women exhibit that. As Ahmad Al-Akoum, the Imam of the center, noted though, the scary thing isn’t the women but the children themselves. The three are very young, presumably under the age of 10, and they can be caught saying absolutely vile things like “[Muslims] buy their chicken to rape it,” “Muslims are waiting to rape you.”
Akoum’s response to these words summarizes everyone’s sentiments:
“What really affected me the most is seeing those young children getting real-life lessons in hate, that was the thing that made me really, really upset with those people. Those innocent 5-, 6-year-old children are now really learning hate from their parents. It’s really disheartening,”
Now, there is a silver lining to all this. And that is that the two women have been arrested by the Tempe Police Department. Whatever charges are filed against them is yet to be determined, but the real questions that will remain are what will become of the children and who will help them overcome the hatred they have been taught? Hopefully they won’t be placed back in the custody of these two obviously mentally unhinged people, who are obviously bent on teaching them to hate, and to take disturbingly hateful actions.
These Trump supporters recorded themselves vandalizing a mosque and teaching their kids to hate Muslims — they've since been arrested
