On day 4 of the Trump administration, National Security Advisor Michael Flynn lied to the FBI about the details of a secret meeting at Trump Tower with former Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak. Despite hordes of photographers in and around Trump Tower, Kislyak was never seen entering the building. We now know Kislyak was covertly brought into the building and met with Jared Kushner and Michael Flynn, who would go on to briefly become Trump’s National Security Advisor. The topic of that meeting was about U.S. sanctions against Russia, the very same sanctions discussed in the Donald Trump Jr. meeting with the Russian lawyer, and Flynn lied to the FBI about the meeting. There is widespread speculation this single charge is part of the plea deal, one that means Flynn likely gave incriminating information on other members of the Trump administration.
Read the full charge here:
It seems important to recall that House Democrats sounded the alarm about Michael Flynn and his covert work for foreign governments. In November 2016, they even sent a letter to VP-elect Mike Pence to warn him of his work.

During the Republican National Convention, Michael Flynn took the stage to lead the crowd in a “lock her up!” chant about Hillary Clinton, screeching that nobody is above the law.
But get this: The charging document says Flynn lied about a Dec. 29 convo with Kislyak in which Kislyak said Russia wouldn’t retaliate on sanctions *at his request.*
