President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has assured that the Ukrainian authorities continue taking all possible actions to release from the Russian Federation illegally sentenced by Russian courts for political reasons citizens of Ukraine.

“The Ukrainian authorities continue doing everything possible to liberate [illegally arrested in the occupied Crimea deputy chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people] Akhtem Chiygoz and all political prisoners of the Kremlin,” Poroshenko wrote on his Facebook page on August 10 afternoon.

He also cited part of Chiygoz’ last word before passing a verdict in which the deputy chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, in particular, stresses that there is no criminal case against him, and the country-invader of Crimea is making a trial against him, which does not have this right.
