Over President’s Day weekend, “Impeach President Bannon” signs have begun popping up in cities across the country.
Cities such as Washington, D.C., Baltimore, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York City have been inundated with the signs as President Trump’s senior adviser seems to be calling the shots in regards to major decisions made within the Trump administration.

A white supremacist and the founder of conservative “news” site Breitbart News, Bannon is the “only male aide who dared to visit Trump’s office without a suit and tie,” speaking volumes about his presumptuousness and holier-than-thou attitude.
Breitbart has long come under fire for its racist, sexist, and anti-Semitic remarks. The site published an article calling anti-Trump conservative commentator Bill Kristol a “renegade Jew.” Bannon also publicly admitted that he didn’t want his daughters going to school with Jews, whom he went on to refer to as “whiny brats.”
In an unprecedented move, President Trump signed an executive order just days into his presidency, giving Bannon a seat on the National Security Council’s Principals Committee. Bannon’s appointment followed the demotion of the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the director of national intelligence, respectively.
The move prompted severe backlash, leading The New York Times to publish an editorial calling Bannon the “de facto president.”
The piece asserts:
‘Based on several draconian and probably unconstitutional executive orders issued by President Trump and the unprecedented and deeply troubling appointment of his special adviser, Stephen Bannon, to sit on the National Security Council, it appears that Mr. Trump has indeed ceded authority to Mr. Bannon to basically act as the de facto president.’
Back in January, GQ called Bannon the “true president” in an article detailing his swift his rise to power: “If Donald Trump has shown anything during his first eleven days in office, it’s that he’s a coward with no ideas of his own, who is more than happy to be a puppet for the true president of the United States: Steve Bannon. Sure, Trump acts like he’s in charge, but that’s because he’s too dumb to realize that Bannon is so obviously pulling the strings that he’s become a joke.”
What’s even more terrifying, perhaps, is that this is a man who openly proclaimed his goal is to “destroy the state” and to “bring everything crashing down, and destroy all of today’s establishment.”
TIME magazine called him “the great manipulator” after news surfaced that he was the driving force behind Trump’s controversial Muslim ban.
If one thing is certain, it’s that this man is terrifying and must be stopped.
